As part of our initial research, we examined the following aspects for weather data and their applications compiled:

• Short description – What is it about?
• Last update – When was the last update shipped? Particularly in the case of digital applications developed as part of research projects, further development or maintenance may be discontinued once the project is completed
• License – Under what license was the application published and are there any costs associated with using the application?
