Icons can also support the graphical presentation of complex issues in the building and neighborhood areas. In collaboration with the project “Privacy Icons” of the research group Digital Self-Determination, open-source icons were developed for this purpose and released for free use and modification.
The set currently consists of over 150 individual icons and serves particularly:
-
the effective implementation of data protection transparency and information obligations towards affected individuals (e.g., in privacy notices),
-
the visualization of how digital applications work in the building and neighborhood sectors - for customers as well as professionals (see, for example, examples in the privacy overview)
-
the communication of knowledge and clear presentation of research findings.
In addition, the release of a set of building graphics and other visualization components is planned to provide users with a “toolkit” for visualizing a project or an individual application.
